Pitti Uomo 102 - day 2

The high pressure continued in Florence and the men's fashion fair Pitti Uomo. Here's a recap of Wednesday, of course with lots of photos of groomed visitors, a look at the exhibition floor and a recap of two well-attended evening events.

The procedure followed the classic one that often applies to Pitti Uomo. On the first day the fair is smothered with people, everyone in town wants to get there and check out the situation and tune up the essentials. Day two is a bit quieter on the fairgrounds, many have meetings elsewhere in the city, visit the brands that didn't choose to be at the fair but are still in Florence these days, and so on. But you can tell that this is the day when everyone is on site, not least in that there are most evening events on day two and these are all very well-attended.

There's a lot of talk about how classic men's style has generally moved towards being more casual, something that was of course hastened by the fact that we had a pandemic where nobody went to work for a long time. This is also evident at Pitti. The summer version has always been a bit more informal than the winter edition, by nature, but if you compare how people looked here five years ago or so, it's still a more casual look overall.


Even when suits are worn, formality is often taken down a notch by casual elements.
