An updated interpretation of the timeless GAT - German Army Trainer, here in a light grey suede with matching smooth calf leather. A wearable version of the classic 70s model, as functional as the original was when it first launched. The sole of these sneakers is made of natural rubber, while the interior is made of natural-coloured vegetable-tanned leather for optimal breathability.

- High quality chrome free full grain calf and premium calf suede uppers.
- Fully lined in vegetable tanned Italian leather which is kind to the foot and breathes well.
- A thicker more built-up and cushioned insole, covered with vegetable tanned leather.
- Comfortable padding along the opening and in the tongue.
- Comfortable gum rubber soles.
- Leather board heel stiffeners that moulds nicely to the foot, instead of plastic heel stiffeners which are by far the most common in sneakers.
- Midsole in more durable leather board (which is like a base inside the shoe under the loose insole), instead of being made of a felt cloth or cardboard as in almost all other sneakers.
- Shank in arch of the foot which gives the shoe comfortable stability in the area that is not supposed to bend.

The cemented construction is the most basic construction method for shoes. Here the upper together with midsole / lasting board (as is the case for all our Skolyx shoes made with this construction, where a proper real leather midsole is used) or in simpler cases a fabric sole base is attached to the outsole with only adhesives, no stitching.

Nowadays the cement used is strong and can often last long, but resoling the shoes is usually trickier. Often a cobbler only attach a new wear piece on top of the original outsole, to make the shoes last longer.
