Skolyx Premium trainers white and light grey

Great version of the classic trainer, a model type that is one of the oldest type of sneakers around. Made of white chrome free calf leather and light grey calf suede, with an all natural vegetable tanned leather interior. Sensationally comfortable with a sole that has just the right balance of support and comfortable cushioning, not at all the spongy feel of some trainers with foam rubber soles. 

With our range of premium trainers sneakers, we've achieved what is perhaps the best bang-for-the-buck trainers in the world. When we started working with a, for us, new factory in Portugal, we have gone through all the parts of the shoes, and have achieved top class specifications yet keeping the price very competitive.

Below all the details of the shoes:
- Chrome free calf leather and high quality calf suede uppers.
- Fully lined in vegetable tanned Italian leather which is kind to the foot and breathes well.
- A thicker built-up and cushioned insole, covered with vegetable tanned leather.
- Comfortable padding along the opening and in the tongue.
- Comfortable rubber soles made of partly recycled rubber.
- Reinforcement at the back of the heel to improve the stability of the soles, makes these trainers work also for people with pronation.
- Leather board heel stiffeners that moulds nicely to the foot, instead of plastic heel stiffeners which are by far the most common in sneakers.
- Midsole (which is like a base inside the shoe under the loose insole) in real leather, instead of being made of a felt cloth or cardboard as in almost all other sneakers. 
- Shank in arch of the foot which gives the shoe comfortable stability in the area that is not supposed to bend.

Note: Some pairs have removable insoles that are slightly generous in size, which may cause them to fold in the front. You can easily fix this by removing the sole and cutting off a few millimetres at the front edge. The reason for this is that we use insoles we've developed ourselves that are only made for our shoes, and they only come in one version per size and sometimes they don't match the shoes completely.

The cemented construction is the most basic construction method for shoes. Here the upper together with midsole / lasting board (as is the case for all our Skolyx shoes made with this construction, where a proper real leather midsole is used) or in simpler cases a fabric sole base is attached to the outsole with only adhesives, no stitching.

Nowadays the cement used is strong and can often last long, but resoling the shoes is usually trickier. Often a cobbler only attach a new wear piece on top of the original outsole, to make the shoes last longer.
