The penny loafer is a shoe model that was invented in in Norway, when a slip-on used by local fishermen was developed further, and this is Norwegian Swims reinvention of the style. A non-marking rubber outsole and comfortable EVA insole partly made with Bloom algae, along with Swims' excellent ventilation and drainage technology.

The model has a lot in common with classic driving shoes, the same lightweight build and softness, but the more durable sole studs and rubber base makes sure it can be worn and walked in properly, making it a much more versatile shoe. This model is made in a classic navy shade. A given favourite for the summer.

Swims loafers are normal in fit, comparable in size to most other sneaker brands. More info on sizing in the tab below.

Basic shoe care:
- Avoid wearing the same pair two days in a row. Shoes need time to dry up, otherwise they will wear out faster.
- Brush / wipe off your sneakers after use to remove dirt that otherwise will increase wear and tear.
- Use shoe trees and a shoehorn to retain the shape of your shoes and make them last longer.
- Treat leather with shoe cream or a moisturising conditioner / suede and textiles with waterproofing spray
- Something that makes a big difference to the overall impression is a sole edge dye that restores the sole edge, here we have Tarrago Sneakers Total White for white or Total Black for black.

When your shoes are really dirty, clean them with a good shoe cleaner, like Tarrago WASC! Sneakers Super Cleaner (always use shoe cream / conditioner on leather or waterproofing spray on suede after cleaning them).

The cemented construction is the most basic construction method for shoes. Here the upper together with midsole / lasting board (as is the case for all our Skolyx shoes made with this construction, where a proper real leather midsole is used) or in simpler cases a fabric sole base is attached to the outsole with only adhesives, no stitching.

Nowadays the cement used is strong and can often last long, but resoling the shoes is usually trickier. Often a cobbler only attach a new wear piece on top of the original outsole, to make the shoes last longer.
