Plain toe derby model in sand coloured Repello gum oil suede from the famous British tannery Charles F. Stead. A lovely shoe, especially in spring and summer, but also on sunny autumn days. Stitchdown construction, where the upper is turned outwards and sewn to a leather midsole, to which the rubber sole is attached. They can easily be resoled by a cobbler.
Shank in the arch that provides support to counteract tired feet. Made on the round last S292, with a soft comfortable crepe rubber sole. Yanko is one of the oldest still active classic shoe brands from Spain, with a solid reputation as an affordable manufacturer of quality shoes.
Note that on this type of Stitchdown construction there are often marks in the uppers from the sole stitching machine, this is normal and it often becomes less visible over time when the shoes have been worn. Also, linings and stiffeners are turned outwards (because of this, soft celastic stiffeners are used here, in order to be able to bend them in the required way) and can therefore be visible along the edge.
